? In the past, we have discussed that the first Hamburgers started being served across America in the early to mid 19th century. But the young Lionel Sternberger is thought to have created the very first cheeseburger. In 1926 he added that legendary slice of cheese changing the world of burgers forever.

? During wartime, several burger restaurants in America renamed their burgers to the far more patriotic ‘Liberty Sandwich’.

? The biggest burger ever made was crafted in Minnesota. At the Black Bear Casino Resort, the burger weighed 9.07 KG and was 3.05 meters in diameter.

? If all the burgers eaten in a single year in the USA were placed in a line, the line would circle the earth more than 32 times.

? The Fleur Burger from the Las Vegas restaurant Fleur De Lys cost $5,000. It was one of the most expensive burgers ever! Wagyu beef, foie gras, shaved black truffles and truffle sauce, served on a brioche truffle bun. Finally, the burger was accompanied with a bottle of 1990 Chateau Petrus worth around $2,000.

? Burgers account for 60% of all sandwiches sold around the world.

? The majority of beef sold in restaurants (roughly 70%) is used in burgers.

? In Mexico burgers called “hamburgeusas”, are commonly made with actual ham on them as well as the classic beef pattie.

? It is thought possible that the first real veggie burger was created in London. In 1982 Gregory Sams called his creation the ‘VegeBurger’.
