Wow, what a year 2015 has been! The autumn saw the unveiling of our sparkling new restaurant, Lyons’ Den Gourmet Burger, situated in the heart of Shrewsbury at Traitors Gate. We believe we offer the most mouth-watering gourmet burgers in town, and it has been incredibly rewarding to share our handcrafted dishes with customers from far and wide. 2015 will definitely be a year Adam and I will remember… and we’ll be offering even more in 2016!

Customers from afar, but not our ingredients…

It’s been our aim since day one to delight Lyons’ Den visitors with delicious burgers, using choice locally produced ingredients. For us, it’s important to support suppliers in the surrounding area, and not just that, we also value the premium quality, which is the starting point for our chefs to create a delectable menu.

We are proud to source our succulent beef from nearby Maynard’s Farm Shop, whose butcher is Rob Cunningham – one of Rick Stein’s renowned Food Heroes. Our drinks list includes the time-honoured Shropshire Lad ale, an assortment of wines from local merchants Tanners, and refreshing Wenlock Spring Water amongst a selection of soft drinks. One of our most requested burgers is even named after our home county; the Shropshire Burger’s standout feature is lashings of flavoursome Shropshire Blue cheese! This is even more popular than our Evolution Burger, another locally influenced meal (but not one for the faint-hearted…).

The best thing about using local produce is we know exactly where it’s come from. This way, we can guarantee our ingredients are up to the high standards of you – our valued customer.

Burger service with a smile

It’s not just making tasty, local burgers that drives us. It’s also the personal service customers receive whilst they enjoy their meal. Our customers are not just a number in a queue. Like any business, we can’t please 100% of the people 100% of the time, but you only have to look at our Facebook reviews to see our overall star rating. We welcome our visitors with the warmest hospitality and, as a family-owned restaurant, it’s a priority to ensure Lyons’ Den is genuinely family-friendly. From our children’s menu to colouring sheets and pencils, we hope we look after our little fans! We want children and parents alike to leave with a smile on their face!

Our utmost thanks

As we come to the end of an amazingly busy year, we would like to thank everyone who has helped get Lyons’ Den off the ground. From our superb suppliers to all of our cherished customers, not forgetting the abundance of family and friends who have lent a hand along the way. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed towards Lyons’ Den’s success! As much hard work as Adam and I have put in, we definitely couldn’t have achieved this on our own.

Our New Year’s resolution – continue the success story!

2016 marks the start of the first full year for Lyons’ Den. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page and website for news, special offers and fresh additions to the menu; we will be adding alluring new specials as we welcome locals and visitors looking for a gourmet handmade burger accompanied by friendly service in unique surroundings. We will also continue to welcome your feedback; what we’ve done right, what we could improve, who has particularly stood out for you. Constructive comments are vital for any business owner.

Christmas may traditionally be the time for indulgence, but at Lyons’ Den we are looking to spoil you all year round!
